- Passport and visa applications
If the shutdown continues into November, benefits for SNAP (Food Stamps) and HEAP Energy Assistance applications could be delayed.
What's Not Impacted
The following will remain open:
- New York City public schools
- Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) offices
- Post offices (mail delivery will continue)
- Federal courts
The shutdown does not affect the payment of:
