You can bring anyone into the voting booth to interpret for you and help you vote, except your employer or union representative.
As required by the Voting Rights Act, the Board of Elections (BOE) also provides interpretation services at certain poll sites in:
- Bengali
- Cantonese
- Korean
- Mandarin
- Spanish

Additional Language Assistance
The Civic Engagement Commission (NYC CEC) will also provide language assistance thorugh the Voter Language Assistance (VLA) Program. VLA provides assistance at select poll sites on Election Day and select Early Voting Days.
